Turkish Airlines EuroLeague fans expressed their love for long-time stars of their favorite teams in the Fans Choice All-Decade Team by Team survey. That was one of the main takeaways from the results following three weeks of voting for the best players from the competition’s top teams over the last decade. Here is a deep dive into what else the survey revealed.

Shved tops all vote-getters

Fans voted for stars from each of 15 clubs who played the most seasons in the EuroLeague from 2010 to 2020. The top vote-getter in terms of percentage was Alexey Shved of Khimki Moscow Region, who was named on 97.85% of the surveys. Shved is one of seven players who received at least 95.00%, the others being Tornike Shengelia (97.26%, TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz). Sergio Llull (96.97%, Real Madrid), Shane Larkin (96.93%, Anadolu Efes Istanbul), Bojan Dubljevic (95.40%, Valencia Basket), Luka Doncic (95.24%, Real) and Dimitris Diamantidis (95.10%, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens).

Tight races for top spots

One of the highlights of the survey was the races for number one at CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos Piraeus, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Real. It could not get any closer for CSKA as Kyle Hines and Milos Teodosic received the same number of votes for 91.41%. The top man in Olympiacos fans’ heart proved to be Georgios Printezis, whose last-second shot delivered the 2012 EuroLeague title and helped him earn 94.53% – just 0.23% higher than Vassilis Spanoulis. Things were only slightly less close with Fenerbahce, where Bogdan Bogdanovic picked up 92.21% of the vote – 0.54% more than Jan Vesely. And Real supporters were also torn but gave Llull the nod with 96.97% – 1.73% more than Doncic.
